Wilmington Hospital is a full service institution that is part of the Christiana Care Health System and is located near downtown Wilmington. The operating rooms are available seven days a week, 24 hours per day, although the focus of the operating suite is during daytime hours. Wilmington Hospital is the home of the Total Joint Replacement Center and the majority of cases are orthopedic.

Patients are screened prior to total joint operations in order to prepare for the highly efficient delivery of primarily regional anesthetics followed by intensive rehabilitation on specialized post surgical units. General, gynecological, plastic and ear, nose, and throat surgeries make up the bulk of the other specialty areas.

Anesthesia is delivered utilizing the Anesthesia Care Team approach in which an Anesthesiologist and CRNA collaborate to ensure safe and appropriate anesthesia care.
