ASPA Welcomes Dr. Amine El-Amraoui and Dr. Jim Leonard

We are excited to introduce our two new anesthesiologists that have joined ASPA!

Dr. Amine El-Amraoui is joining us from the University of North Carolina where he just finished his regional fellowship and was a clinical instructor.  Before his fellowship, Dr. El-Amraoui went to medical school at Georgetown and also completed his residency at the University of North Carolina.

Dr. El-Amraoui is married with a one month old son.  He enjoys sports, grilling, and music.

Dr. Jim Leonard most recently completed his fellowship in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology from NYU Langone Medical Center after completing his residency there as well.  Before completing his residency, Dr. Leonard completed his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at Princeton and then went on to Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for medical school.

Dr. Leonard has been married for almost 10 years to his wife, Jana.  They have two sons: Isaac, age 4, and Elliott, age 1.  Dr. Leonard enjoys playing basketball any chance he can get!

Please be sure to say hello to Dr. El-Amraoui and Dr. Leonarard when you see them!

Clinical Update Communications

As you know, ASPA has been attempting to improve the communication of clinical information within our organization.  We have recently adopted the process of compiling all of the formerly fragmented clinical announcements into one weekly clinical email that comes out every Wednesday via ASPA email.  This new system was in response to your feedback and thoughts of how to make it easier for providers to keep track of various updates from so many sources and sites.  We have had numerous positive responses and comments from this new approach, but we have been unable to measure how well we are doing.

Going forward, providers will need to open the Weekly Clinical Update and click on a “read-receipt” button at the end of the email.

This will allow us to determine who is or is not reading this email.  As the adage goes, “We can’t improve what we can’t measure.”

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
